Poetry Writing for Everyone: Whether you’ve never written a poem or are a published poet, this workshop will cover the elements of great poetry and then apply these elements by writing our own poems using fun, thought-provoking prompts. Led by Chris Abbate.
World Religions (4 of 4): Taken from Huston Smith’s book, World Religions, this session will explore Islam. Part of each session will be devoted to experiencing a ritual of worship or preparing to worship from each tradition. Led by Lois Cavanagh-Daley.
Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets: Chapter 7 – Confusion: Mudbloods and Murmors. Discover and engage in the practice of reading Harry Potter as sacred text. Led by Elle Penley and Kathleen Bardin. Note: Ages 13 and above; younger by parental permission
Speak Up! Practice Session — Have trouble knowing what to say when faced with racist comments? Do your part to end micro-aggressions against people of color by learning to Speak Up! Come and explore strategies for what to say and practice real-life situations. Led by Becky Elliott, facilitator of the UUA “Journey to Wholeness” workshops.

This class will increase your knowledge of the origin, history and contents of the Hebrew Scriptures, revisit its stories and themes, and discuss their value – especially for UUs!
