UU Justice on Jones Street Advocacy Day May 14th

On May 14th, mark your calendar for UU Justice on Jones Street Advocacy Day! We will be hosting Forward Together, UU Justice Ministry of North Carolina, for Advocacy Day training starting at 9:30 am. Learn about the legislative process and how to be an effective “citizen lobbyist”. After the training, we will go to the Legislature, meet with our representatives, and put our training to work. Proposed Legislation regarding firearms is:

  • H 61 — Allows for Concealed Carry with no permit nor safety training.
  • H 216 — School Self Defense Act – Allows for arming of teachers with a 5% pay raise and pays for training.
  • S 192 — School Security Act Similar to H216
  • S565  — Extreme Risk Protection Orders allows for temporary confiscation of firearms when owner is considered a danger to self, family or community.
