On May 14, UUFR will host UUs Forward Together and the UU Justice Ministry of North Carolina for Jones Street Advocacy Day training starting at 9:30 am. Learn about the legislative process and how to be an effective “citizen lobbyist”. After the training we will go to the Legislature, meet with our representatives, and put our training to work. Proposed Legislation regarding firearms:
- H-61 Allows for Concealed Carry with no permit nor safety training.
- H 216 School Self Defense Act – Allows for arming of teachers with a 5% pay raise and pays for training.
- S 192 School Security Act is similar to H216
- S565 Extreme Risk Protection Order allows for temporary confiscation of firearms when owner is considered a danger to self, family or community.
