We will gather next Wednesday to discuss Jesmyn Ward’s The Fire This Time: A New Generation Speaks About RaceSince this book is a collection of essays, why don’t you try to come prepared to discuss the one that struck you the most?

Copies are available in Wake County libraries, and Quail Ridge Books and Barnes & Noble have paperback editions in stock. Abe Books may have used copies available online. Also, the online magazine, The Bitter Southerner, has an article this month on African American writers from Mississippi, featuring several of the writers in this month’s book.
