This past week Jennifer Johnson notified the Board that due to a medical crisis in her family, she is resigning immediately from her position as Member at Large to focus her full attention on her family. This was a difficult decision for her, and all of us will miss the dedication, perspective and grounding that Jennifer brought to our work together.
Our bylaws state that “For all open positions other than President the Board shall fill vacancies by appointing members selected from a list of candidates recommended by the Nominating Committee, after notifying the membership of the vacancies and requesting applications.”
We ask that you consider our leadership needs as we step into this new chapter of our congregational life. To address the goals we’ve laid out, your Board now meets twice each month — on the 4th Tuesday for our formal monthly Board meeting, and generally on the 2nd Tuesday for a roll-up-your-sleeves work session. Work sessions and goal-related task force meetings may vary in timing and participation, depending on what needs to be addressed.
If you would like to nominate yourself, please complete and submit your application to [email protected] no later than Saturday, September 14.
If you would like to recommend a candidate, please submit that person’s name to [email protected] by Wednesday, September 11 — a bit earlier so that the Nominating Committee can confirm the person’s interest and request an application.

With your support and engagement, we will continue to move forward together, building “a Unitarian Universalist community that transforms lives and empowers people to serve the world.”
In faith and fellowship on behalf of your Board,
