The UUFR Foundation is pleased to announced that it has been able to fund four important projects:
- $550 for a 1-year pilot project to purchase renewable energy credits from Arcadia Power, which provides energy from sustainable wind farms.
- $1,680 for a 1-year pilot project with Compost Now for compostable supplies.
- $1,100 to go towards replacing fluorescent bulbs on the lower floor of Fellowship Hall with LED tubes, further lowering our energy use.
- $1,500 for a cell phone signal booster.
The first three projects were submitted by the Environmental Justice Ministry Team (EJMT) and support UUFR’s efforts to fight climate change, renew our commitment as a Green Sanctuary, and raise awareness about what members themselves can do. Any member of the EJMT would love to tell you more about these projects.
The cell phone signal booster is foremost a safety measure, but it also will be a general service to our members and visitors to our campus. It will eliminate dead zones and allow calls on any cell phone carrier from anywhere on our campus.
