The November Justice Sunday Offering benefits Urban Ministries (UM) of Wake County, which serves more than 32,000 Wake County residents each year. UM clients come for help with necessities: when food and funds have run out, when chronic illness threatens their family stability or even their life. They come when “home” has slipped away, leaving them to wonder where they’ll sleep or how they’ll make a meal. UM responds through its medical clinic and prescription services, its food pantry and nutrition programs, and the Helen Wright Women’s Shelter.
In addition to the Justice Sunday collection, UUFR supports UM through non-perishable food donations, which can be left in the cabinets near the lower entrance of Fellowship Hall and as volunteers in a variety of roles. Please give generously!
