Family Ministry at UUFR

Special Activities – On Sunday, December 1, children and youth in grades K-12 will gather in Founders Hall at 11:00 am for special activities in preparation for UUFR’s 70th anniversary celebration. Families are encouraged to stay for the Congregation-wide 70th Anniversary Potluck following the service. There will be pizza! Childcare and Nursery will still be available at 11 am.

Youth Worship Volunteers are sought for services on December 22 and December 29. There are six roles available each week: 4 youth ushers to assist adult ushers, 1 chime ringer for the beginning of service, and one teen to read the chalice lighting. If your child would enjoy being a helper in worship, please sign up here.

PARENTS, DON’T FORGET THE DROP AND SHOP on Saturday, December 7, from 1:00-5:00 pm – Drop off the kids and head out for some holiday shopping while we entertain the children. A nursery will be provided for those age 3 and under.

New Parents of Young Children Meet-Up Group – Parents and caregivers of children under age 3 are invited to meet in the nursery on Sunday, December 8, from 12:15-1:00pm and Wednesday, December 18, from 5:30-6:30 pm. Bring your children for a chance to connect with fellow UUFR parents. Contact Elle Penley for details.

TWO Chalice Circles especially designed for parents will launch in January! These groups will meet once per month from January to June and will explore the same monthly themes our children are studying. One group will meet concurrently with youth group on Sunday evenings, and another will meet on Wednesday nights during Wellspring (childcare provided). Deadline for signing up is December 1.

Remember , parents have access to an extensive Soul Matters resource packet on the theme each month. December’s theme is “Awe.” The packet is full of questions, games and activities that can help parents enforce the theme at home. Please use password UUFRsoulmatters to access this amazing resource.
