Family Ministry at UUFR

Children’s Chapel has merged with the main UUFR worship service. We will no longer be holding a separate Children’s Chapel. Families are invited to watch the service on Youtube together on Sundays at 11 am, which will include a special “Time For All Ages.” Join us after worship for Family Social Hour to say hello to teachers, friends and staff; refer to the link in your Friday Family Ministry Newsletter in your inbox.

Age-Banded Small Group Meetings. Join us for fun and fellowship with your classmates and favorite Sunday School teachers by referring to the link in your Friday Family Ministry Newsletter in your inbox.

Bedtime Stories –Wednesday, April 22, 7 pm

Bedtime Stories with Nancy Stone and the UUFR Storytelling Team! Put on your jammies, grab some popcorn and join us for story time! Bring your favorite stuffed animal to share the story and be prepared to fall asleep. If you missed this week’s story, Miss Twiggley’s Tree, you can check it out here!

National Tell-A-Story Day: Monday, April 27, 7 pm

Whether from a book, your imagination, or a childhood memory, this is the day for people of all ages to share their stories with family and friends. We will be gathering together (virtually) for a marathon of storytelling. Contact: Nancy Stone for details on how to participate or to sign up.

Changes to our Virtual Meeting spaces for added safety – Moving forward, we are implementing some changes in how we engage with children and families online. All family ministry meetings will utilize the “waiting room” feature for participants, and we will not allow screen sharing. We will no longer be posting meeting links publicly. To access links to our programming, please refer to our Friday weekly newsletter. If you are not receiving this resource, please register here. These links will also be posted to our private UUFR Parent Facebook Group. Want to spend virtual time with our kids at social hour or on Wednesday nights? Email Tryst Chagnon or Annie Wheliss for a link to join. Our kids would love to see you!

Pen Pal Program – Would your child like some snail mail from a UUFR member (background checked)? Sign-up to write a letter and receive a response. We have a list of adults waiting for pals. Click here to sign up.

Remember that parents have access to an extensive Soul Matters resource packet on the theme each month.  April’s theme is “Liberation.”  The packet is full of questions, games and activities that can help parents enforce the theme at home. Please use password UUFRsoulmatters to access this amazing resource. For details about this Sunday’s programming and other family news, please check out This Week in Parent News every week, our UUFR Parents Community on Facebook, and our Family Ministry Weekly Newsletter in your inbox for the latest news!
