Men’s Breakfast, Saturday, April 18, 9:00 am – During our next UUFR Men’s Breakfast, we will gather online – click here to join us, or join by phone (without video) by calling (646) 558-8656 and entering meeting ID 917-0902-7350 and password 001180. This month’s topic is “Running away/Walking away/Being pushed away.” Any life situations that you chose to leave? Were you told to leave? Did you leave running or walking? Maybe breaking up a relationship, being fired, changing careers. This month’s check-in question is “recommendations for Netflix/AmazonPrime/etc.” Be sure to have pen and paper ready! BYO Breakfast. Race & Culture Book Club: Wednesday, May 13, 7:00 pm – The UUFR Race & Culture Book Club is reading Colson Whitehead’s novel, The Underground Railroad. Just how and where we will “meet” is to be determined; a notice will be sent out prior to the meeting. A reviewer writes, “In Whitehead’s ingenious conception, the Underground Railroad is no mere metaphor—engineers and conductors operate a secret network of tracks and tunnels beneath the Southern soil.” The book can be borrowed online from the Wake County Library.
