UUFR Race & Culture Book Club

For August, the book club is reading March by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and Nate Powell (Illustrator). It is a three-volume graphic novel of John Lewis’s life as a leader in the Civil Rights movement. Reviewers have said, “This graphic novel series is powerful and moving….It does not shy away from the hateful, hurtful language used, the brutality endured, and the tragedies that resulted in the fight for civil rights.” Copies are available from Wake County Library and possibly could be borrowed from other book club members who have already read the book (it’s a quick and very rewarding read). For more information and to get the Zoom link, contact Chris Wise. (Wednesday, August 12, 7:00 pm.)
