Habitat for Humanity of Wake County will receive our social justice offering in August.
We will hear from Rick Beech, VP of Faith Relations at Habitat Wake. Affordable housing is one of our social justice priorities at UUFR, and this year we have helped to support Amber, our Interfaith Build partner, by building as much as we could before COVID-19 derailed construction plans. The dedicated Habitat staff and a team of highly skilled volunteers has continued to build Amber’s home. We hope that UUFR volunteers will be able to help with some of the finishing touches, but it looks less and less likely every day. Thanks to the UUFR Handicrafters for creating a beautiful blanket to help welcome Amber into her new home when it is dedicated. Through your generous donations on August 9, families like Amber’s will find affordable homes of their own within reach in our increasingly expensive community.
