From the Nominating Committee

Looking for an opportunity to deepen your involvement and further serve UUFR? The Nominating Committee is seeking to fill several leadership roles in the congregation starting in July 2021. Nominees will be elected by members at our May 2021 annual meeting. Open opportunities include Board positions: President-Elect (3-year term – serving one year in each of the following leadership positions – President-Elect; President; Past President), Secretary (2-year term) and one At-Large Member (2-year term). In addition, there will be two positions open on the Nominating Committee (3-year terms). Currently, the Nominating Committee also is seeking a member to fill the remaining term (one and one-half years) of a member of the Foundation Board, who is resigning.

Don’t worry! You’ll have time to think through and prepare for these opportunities. UUFR will be offering Leadership Training in February and March, 2021. Also, there will be seasoned committee members ready to welcome and assist those joining our leadership team. Refer to the document Board Governance Policies of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh, pp. 9-13, for a description of Board positions and responsibilities.

If you have ever wanted to be more involved in the roles and positions of leadership at UUFR, get to know more members, and work to continue the roles and commitments of UUFR, we would welcome an opportunity to speak with you to determine your interests and goals and to give you more information about serving this vibrant community. It takes many hands to steer this ship. Please think about a commitment and then send an email expressing your interest in serving here.
