ONE Wake Events in October and November

ONE Wake – – the multi-racial, multi-cultural, interfaith coalition of more than 40 churches, mosques, synagogues and other civic organizations to which UUFR belongs – – is sponsoring two important events in October and November. UUFR members are encouraged to sign up for one or both of these events.

On Thursday, October 21, at 6:30 p.m., ONE Wake is holding a public meeting with Raleigh City Council Members to discuss ONE Wake’s proposal for property-tax relief for low-income, long-time homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes because of skyrocketing property taxes. On Thursday, November 11, at 7 p.m., ONE Wake is holding a public meeting with Cary Town Council candidates to discuss ONE Wake’s proposal to commit one penny from the current property tax rate to create an affordable housing fund. To learn more about these two actions, please attend UUFR’s online Wellspring session on Wednesday, October 13, at 7 p.m. for a presentation by our UUFR One Wake Core team about One Wake’s October and November actions and how you can get involved. The team will share updates on ONE Wake’s agenda, community impacts, and affordable housing actions in Raleigh and Cary.
