The Night Watchman

Race & Culture Book Club: Wednesday, February 9th, 7:00 pm – For February, the Book Club is reading Louise Erdrich’s The Night Watchman, the Winner of the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Literature. The book is based on the extraordinary life of the author’s grandfather who worked as a night watchman and carried the fight against Native American dispossession from rural North Dakota all the way to Washington, DC. This powerful novel explores themes of love and death with lightness and gravity and unfolds with the elegant prose, sly humor, and depth of feeling of a master craftsman.  Join us!
