Paul Buescher, Board Member at Large

My wife Barbara and I joined the UUFR in 2007 and have been active members. I was on the UUFR Finance Committee for several years, have participated regularly in Wednesday night dinners and the Poetry and Spirit group, and attended Rev. James’ leadership course in 2021. I am committed to the mission of the UUFR and excited about serving as an at-large member of the Board.

I grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, went to college at Mississippi State University and Louisiana State University, and received graduate degrees in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I worked for 32 years in the field of health statistics at the North Carolina Division of Public Health and retired in 2009.

Other interests include gardening, travel, participating in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at NC State University, billiards, serving as Treasurer and festival planning for the North Carolina Gourd Society, and spending time with my grandsons.
