Caring in Our Community

Care TeamUUFR is a caring community whose members provide love, nurturing, and support for each other. In times of illness, crisis, or celebration, we reach out in many ways -  with a kind word, a meal, or a hug. In addition, we have a Care Team whose ministry is to coordinate Fellowship volunteers and community resources to provide compassionate care and support to members in times of need. The Care Team serves as the central contact point for news about our members and appeals for help.

Kinds of Care and Support

The Care Committee provides emergency (but generally not ongoing) support in these ways.

  • Meals - Food can be prepared and brought to a member's home. We keep a small supply of meals on hand in the Care Freezer at the Fellowship, and periodically we request the donations of simple prepared meals from members of the Fellowship.
  • Transportation - We arrange rides to Sunday services or Fellowship events, or to doctor appointments or to a hospital.
  • Visiting - We arrange visits for our Members/Friends at home or in healthcare facilities.
  • Memorial Service Receptions - We arrange receptions for memorial services.
  • Cards and calls - We send cards for significant events, to sympathize or celebrate, or to stay in touch with folks at home.
  • Support groups - We sponsor care-related support groups. Contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.

Hospital visits, visiting someone at their home, providing a hot meal or transportation, and many other volunteer opportunities will always be present. If you would like to help, call the UUFR office at 919-781-7635 for more information.
