Buy “Scrip” Cards @ UUFR
How UUFR’s Scrip Fundraising Program Works
Step 1: UUFR members and friends buy “scrip” cards through UUFR at full face value (for example, a $25 or $100 Whole Foods card). Choose from nearly 300 popular retailers, including department stores, dining, and travel. A Scrip Fundraising table will be set up in Founder’s Hall during coffee hour each week staffed with a knowledgeable fundraising team member that will be happy to answer your questions and accept your order along with your check or cash for the cost of the cards you order.
Step 2: UUFR buys the cards you’ve ordered at a reduced cost and keeps the difference between the face value of the card and the amount that the Fellowship pays for the card–between 1% and 17% of face value depending on the retailer–and uses the money to support the Fellowship’s programs and activities. For example, UUFR “earns” $5 when it pays $95 for a $100 scrip card purchased by a Fellowship member or friend.
Step 3: UUFR delivers the scrip cards to purchasers. Please allow a couple of weeks once your order is placed to receive your cards. Cards can be picked up on Sunday afternoons after the service. Purchasers are able to use the full face value of the cards in place of cash, checks, or credit cards for groceries, gas, dining, or other goods and services.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I order gift cards online?
A. No. The broker that sells cards to UUFR does not accept on-line credit card purchases from individuals. Please complete one of the pre-printed scrip order forms available during coffee hour and make your payment (cash or check only) to UUFR.
Q. Can I download an order form?
A. Yes. Use this link to download your scrip order form, then print it, complete it, and drop it off or mail it to UUFR along with your check.
Q. Can we add more grocery stores to the program?
A. So far, the only grocery store in our area that participates in the scrip program is Whole Foods. We’ll let you know if that changes.
Q. How long will it take to receive the cards I’ve bought?
A. We order cards every two weeks (to minimize processing costs). Orders placed placed by the 2nd Sunday will usually be available for pick during coffee hour on the 4th Sunday.
