Focus on poems by Denise Levertov (1923-1997), who was born in England, came to America in 1948, and wrote 24 books of poetry as well as criticisms and translations. In the 1960’s and 70’s, she became politically active, and as poetry editor for The Nation, she supported and published the work of feminist and leftist activist poets. Paul Buescher will lead the discussion.
This group is a chance to listen to what the poems prompt from your heart and to share as you wish with a small group in a safe circle. We don’t analyze the poems but rather discuss how the words and images speak to our lives.
