Sunday Morning Forum for Sunday, March 3 — Exploring White Privilege

What does it mean for you to be a white person in the US? We often don’t think about our whiteness because we don’t have to. This then relieves us of having to ask difficult questions about how we might benefit from, as well as perpetuate and reinforce, racist beliefs, systems, and institutions. Moreover, being white also insulates us from the reality that racism harms us all.

Explore these ideas and their many ramifications as we discuss white privilege and  reflect on how this realization might lead to creating the possibility of a more equitable and just society. Presentation and discussion led by Pat Butler.

SMF meets for one hour on Sunday morning (9:30-10:30). Our purpose is to expose ourselves to topics of current relevance. Sometimes we have videos to get us started. We always have lively discussion.
