This week’s theme is the brain. New scientific advances – one of them based on diaper technology! – are allowing us to look inside the brain and see what’s going on in there in ways we hardly even dreamed of even a few years ago. We’ll look at two new ways of seeing brain activity in real time, learn about ways to encourage the formation of new brain cells, and have a little fun by letting Bobby McFerrin play us like an instrument. Taken together, it’s a fascinating dive into the science of who we are and what makes us tick.
SMF meets for one hour on Sunday morning (9:30-10:30) in the Clara Barton room of Peace Hall. Our purpose is to expose ourselves to topics of current relevance. Sometimes we have videos to get us started. We always have lively discussion.
