UUFR Anouncements

Sunday Services This Week at UUFR Regular Events Announcements Calendar

To All Chalice Submitters
Over the past several years, your Chalice editors have been able to be somewhat flexible about Chalice deadlines. This was due to Suzanne Regan’s willingness to handle emails to chalice@uufr.org at any time. With Suzanne’s upcoming job change, this flexibility will no longer be possible. Please send your Chalice submissions to chalice@uufr.org by midnight on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. Thank you for your cooperation.

Let’s Fill the Food Barrels!
The demand for food has risen 20% at Urban Ministries, and their Food Pantry is almost always depleted. Can we make it our goal to fill these two barrels at UUFR twice per month?
Please donate any food item with the exception of canned green beans and canned corn. Here is a list of most wanted items:
canned meat such as tuna and chicken, canned fruit, applesauce, cereal, grits, powdered milk, dried beans, rice, dry pasta, canned pasta, mac and cheese and peanut butter.
Families with children — Why not make this a family project this season, and encourage your children to help drop off food items in the barrels. Kids can too!

Hymnals Are in Demand
As our attendance grows, the need for new hymnals grows with it. Here's your opportunity to honor someone important to you with a bookplate in a new hymnal. Or perhaps your committee would like to collect money to donate one or more hymnals to honor or promote its work or to honor one of its members. Or the bookplate could have a saying or quote that is meaningful to you. You may have other, more creative ideas. Singing the Living Tradition (hardcover) is $33 and Singing the Journey (the new paperback) is $16. Contact Marge Link at margaret_link@ncsu.edu or 781-4079.

Wanted: Operations Managers
We need a few technically savvy people to help run the sound and recording equipment during Sunday Services. Come help Sunday mornings run smoothly and get our digital sermons and services archives up to date. For more information, contact Laura Bridgewater at 662-9592 or lbridgewater68@yahoo.com.

Fellowship Circles Seeking New Members
Are you looking to connect with fellow UUFR members? Fellowship Circles are monthly lay-led discussion groups held in member's homes. Each circle follows a standard meeting format but are free to choose their own discussion topics. Several circles are accepting new members, and there are many options to fit your schedule. For more information, stop by our display in Founders Hall during coffee hour after Sunday Service, or call Kathie McCutcheon rayandkathie@yahoo.com or 359-9876.

News from the Young Adult Group
Are you a young adult (18-35) and looking for a social group that does social action projects together? Then check out the UUFR Young Adult group! We go out to lunch after each Sunday service. Other upcoming events are going to UUFR selling concessions at the Film Festival, preparing food for the Helen Wright Women's Center (March 22), and helping at Habitat for Humanity (TBD). If you want more information, join us for lunch, email Erin Wissink at erinwissink@gmail.com.

Circle Dinners
Potluck dinners provide an opportunity to meet with other UU's in a small group for relaxing and very enjoyable dining. The host usually provides the entree and guests bring the other courses. There are adult only and family events, so sign up for the CIRCLE DINNERS of your choice. There will be several dates available. Sign up sheets are on the bulletin board in the hall near the office. This is one of our most popular social happenings so be sure not to miss out. Sign up and your host and/or hostess will be in contact with you.
