Features the John Brown Quintet and the Greg Brink Trio
On September 6, All That Jazz,
a very special evening of jazz with performances by the John Brown Quintet and
the Greg Brink Trio with special guest Tim Smith, will be held at the Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh. Join jazz aficionados for extraordinary
performances by these acclaimed artists.

The John Brown Quintet performs an exciting mix of hard driving, bebop-influenced
swing, and straight-ahead jazz.
Their music balances
high energy, relaxed grooves, and contemplative ballads. They play jazz – music
that infuses melody and rhythm with mood and musings. The moods range from
pensive reflection to sly and sassy. But the true magic of the group is its
ability to make this music truly accessible and full of life. Listening to this
group is at once a universal and intimate experience.
The Greg Brink Trio performs
traditional jazz standards, overlaying new melody and rhythm on the familiar harmonies to give the audience a new experience of
the well-known jazz numbers. Greg’s particular joy as a musician is to use a song the audience recognizes
as a foundation for self-expression. By improvising on harmony, rhythm, and
texture, he gives new life to jazz standards and popular tunes.
All That Jazz will
take place on Saturday, September 6, at 7 p.m.
in UUFR’s Sanctuary. Tickets are $25.00 for adults and $20.00 for students. For
information, or to purchase tickets, call the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
of Raleigh at (919) 781-7635, or email office@uufr.org.
