Caring Community

Volunteer for Worship Connections Monthly Mailing

Each month, UUFR sends a collated copy of the Worship Service scripts to elderly and disabled members/friends who cannot access on-line events. They are profoundly appreciative for this mailing. The number of recipients ranges 5 to 10. It takes approximately 5 hours per month to do this administrative function. Steps involved in the mailing include: After each Sunday service, send an email to Rev. James or Rev. Sasha, or the worship associate coordinator for a lay-led service, requesting a copy of the service script. Reformat the script (e.g. narrow the margins, make print smaller, take out extra lines). Add each reformatted script into the monthly mailing. Take a copy of the mailing to the church office and Judy or Lewis make the copies. UUFR provides envelopes and stamps. Contact: Sandy Pearce

We are in need of volunteers for the Helen Wright Meal Train. Do you think you would be able to volunteer to help provide a dinner? We will be feeding 30 women every third Monday each month. The food is dropped off at the Center in a coordinated effort among those contributing. A regular dinner meal consists of a main entrée, side, dessert and a beverage. Meal components can be home-cooked or store-bought. Any portion of the meal is welcomed. A menu is emailed two weeks prior to the delivery date. Most entrees can be made ahead of time and frozen.
