ONE Wake Events in October and November

ONE Wake – – the multi-racial, multi-cultural, interfaith coalition of more than 40 churches, mosques, synagogues and other civic organizations to which UUFR belongs – – has scheduled two important events in October and November. UUFR members are encouraged to sign up for one or both of these events.

On Thursday, November 11, at 7 p.m., ONE Wake is holding a public meeting with Cary Town Council candidates to discuss ONE Wake’s proposal to commit one penny from the current property tax rate to create an affordable housing fund. On Thursday, October 21, at 6:30 p.m., ONE Wake already held a public meeting with Raleigh City Council Members to discuss ONE Wake’s proposal for property-tax relief for low-income, long-time homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes because of skyrocketing property taxes. One Wake County Commissioner and two Raleigh City Council members agreed with ONE Wake’s proposal.
