Welcome Home Project:

We are so excited about our Welcome Home project.  Working with USCRI, we are preparing a three bedroom apartment for a family of 7 refugees, arriving from the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday, March 9.  The family includes Mom, her three sons ages 2, 19 and 20 and three daughters ages 8, 14 and 17.  We will set up the three bedroom apartment beginning this Saturday, March 6.   There are many ways that you  can help.   We will post two sign ups for donations of furniture and supplies.  Smaller items  can be delivered to the UUFR parking lot on Friday between 10 and 12.  We will post some evening times for those of you that can’t come on Friday mornings. We will also post a request for volunteers to help pick up larger items, move furniture to the apartment this weekend, clean the apartment and set up all the donations.
The first sign up list is HERE.  The others will be posted as soon as details are known.   Thank you for all of your support fir the wonderful opportunity to demonstrate what our beloved community can do.
